What is La Casa Shambala?
We are a community created in 2016 that stands up for the power of reconnecting within, through the practice of Yoga. Our belief is to bring all the blessings we receive during our experiences into the regular world with passion and a variety of projects. The founder, Rakel Lopez, arrived at the magical island of Koh Phangan in Thailand with the intention of renting a bungalow on the beach and offering acupuncture services after finishing her studies in India.
Things turned out pretty different and what was meant to become a little community project, has now expanded into a worldwide community of like-minded beings coming together to follow their hearts and finding peace in themselves through our Yoga Teacher Training courses.
We are a family of more than 20 brothers and sisters managing, teaching and assisting courses in multiple locations.
We are not only represented by a mandala, we are a mandala. We expand with every deep breath, every new discovery and every new expressed emotion. We all grow in the power of our community.
Yoga Teacher Training is the common phrase in the language of reconnection used in a very saturated spiritual market. Our mission is to first guide you into your inner power, the one that you will only be able to find in total silence and presence, and then give you the tools and support so you can guide others in the same way. We are a non-dogmatic school; we honour every master, but we will always remind you that the real master is you.
We don’t know where or how far this expansion will go, or how many souls are going to be a part of this adventure… but we hope it will be many of you! Our call doesn’t stop on the mat, but in the seed that is planted in each and every one of you, rooted deep to give you the abilities to blossom into beautiful, healthy & colourful flowers that will create magical gardens all around the world.
Community
Community is a very important concept in our project. For us, it means working together in a holistic way to observe the way we relate in this life. When we get together, we are stronger, we inspire each other and create a safe space for honest expression where emotions and authenticity is welcomed. In that union, we can receive infinite benefits, from being able to be independent in the way we feed ourselves to having our needs met, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
We believe that we can create a different world, not from the outside, but from within, trusting that everything comes from the divine inspiration that relies on you remembering your power. Community can be physically present or connected by heart. We have had many people come through our doors to complete their YTTC, making connections and friendships for years to come. We have seen those bonds grow, our students creating their own communities, expanding La Casa Shambala’s family all around the globe. We are proud and honoured to have played a part in these beautiful transformations.
Yoga means Union which is the purpose of our community and the reason why we always encourage our students to also bring their experience out of the mat, making it a superpower not only in their day-to-day lives, but also in the lives of those that surround them.
Our intention is to continue creating movements and expansions that benefit all of us, awaken our self-power and bring out our freedom. We strive to create a space that allow us to shine, rise and let go, building a net of people living in pure love, as it is in that love that we can share, give and receive.
The 11,11 % project
Our Way of Giving Back: The 11.11% Project
We fully believe in the power of abundance because we have experienced it as a growing team, community, and a continuously unfolding project. La Casa Shambala came from dreaming of a better world and has taught us then when we give openly, when we give with love that flows from a higher purpose – the love also flows back to us. This is why we are committed to creating this beautiful experiment.
How can we keep giving back to the world freely? How can we create a never-ending cycle of goodness?
We have decided that 11.11% of the profits made during our trainings (starting 2023) will go to 3 different charitable projects or events. The students who have participated in our courses throughout the year will be able to collectively choose which of these projects resonates most with them, and the proceeds will be sent to that project. We will follow the story of each project and become a part of it, we will witness first-hand how a small change can make a big impact. Hopefully, inspiring ourselves and others through these stories as well. This is the way that we have found to keep the flow of our community open to the rest of the world, to offer to it the same blessings we have been given using a very magical number “11” that guided La Casa Shambala’s founder into the creation of what Shambala is today.
